Prosperity Marketing System

2020 so far has been a year of rapid change and new challenges for e-commerce and search engine marketers alike.  Today we are taking a look at  3 of the biggest trends that we have noticed in 2020.

PPC Automation

One of the biggest trends we have seen in 2020 is PPC automation.

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) is being used to  automate labor intensive and time consuming tasks associated with ads on major search engines such as Google or Bing.

In 2020, the rise of automation in PPC ads on search engines is quickly making  manual bidding a thing of the past.

Using automation tools guides PPC marketers with their bidding strategy and helps identify bids that are going to drive the most traffic. This is saving marketers countless hours and ad dollars in trials and testing and is a trend we expect to only get more prevalent in years to come.

Use of Influencer Marketing

From Instagram stories to TikTok, content distribution and consumption continues to change rapidly in 2020. Social media is now a part of most people’s daily routines. It’s no wonder then why businesses are converging on social media and influencers to establish their brand names and drive revenue.

In fact, the influencer marketing industry is on track to be worth up to $15 billion by 2022, up from as much as $8 billion in 2019, according to Business Insider.

Influencer marketing revolves around trust, and when a trusted influencer recommends a product, their audience listens and acts upon their advice. This trust translates into big ROI for brands and marketers. It is estimated by influencer marketing hub that you can expect an average $18 return on ever $1 spend on influencer marketing.

With this relatively new marketing channel and it’s explosive growth, there are sure to be pitfalls to watch out for. That’s why one of The Search Monitor’s main pillars is influencer compliance and content monitoring.

Voice Searches Continue To Gain Popularity

Voice search has seen a significant growth in the rate of adoption within a very short period of time. According to google nearly 50% of all searches are voice. Further, global voice commerce is projected to be worth $40B by 2022.

The majority of voice searches are made on smartphone features such as Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Siri by Apple. Also, smart home speakers such as Google Home, Amazon Echo and Apple Homepod are becoming extremely popular.

With these becoming more mainstream, this is a trend we do not see slowing down any time soon. .

It is important to constantly check all aspects of your advertising strategy for weak spots and to make sure you’re staying on top of the emerging search marketing trends in this rapidly changing industry.
